Non US players dominate WSOP 2014 Main Event final table

The World Series of Poker 2014 attracted players from all over the world, but the vast majority of participants came from North America. US-based players are having a hard time playing over the Internet and only a couple of poker rooms allow them to play their favorite game. The scarcity of reliable operators made it very difficult for poker fans to enjoy the best gaming experience. Their peers from Europe and particularly Scandinavian players have plenty of options, with most of them choosing Unibet Poker. The reason for why this gambling operator is preferred to most of its peers is that it brilliantly combines online gambling with poker and sports betting. Some of the online poker pros traded the virtual felt for live action and the most successful made deep runs at the World Series of Poker. More than 6000 players decided to pay $10,000 out-of-pocket to participate in the main event, knowing that the winner will take home a total of $10 million. The guaranteed prize pool was once again exceeded and the player who will be sent to the rail first at the final table, will still receive more than $730,000. It's a lot of money and the higher they go up the ladder, the more generous the rework, as one can see below: 1st place - $10,000,0002nd place - $5,145,9683rd place - $3,806,4024th place - $2,848,8335th place - $2,143,1746th place - $1,622,0807th place - $1,235,8628th place - $947,0779th place - $730,725 This time, only four of the "November Nine" are actually Americans, unlike previous years when the final table was dominated by players from the United States. There are four Europeans, including the chip leader and the third-placed player, with another competitor from Brazil expected to return in November. The difference between the leader and the runner-up is not that wide and with the blinds rising at an accelerated pace, a couple of big hands can make the difference. Check out the seating for the final table below: Seat 1 - Billy Pappaconstantinou, Greece - 17,500,000Seat 2 - Felix Stephensen, United States - 32,775,000Seat 3 - Jorryt van Hoof, Netherlands - 38,375,000Seat 4 - Mark Newhouse, United States - 26,000,000Seat 5 - Andoni Larrabe, Spain - 22,550,000Seat 6 - William Tonking, United States - 15,050,000Seat 7 - Daniel Sindelar, United States - 21,200,000Seat 8 - Martin Jacobson, Stockholm - 14,900,000Seat 9 - Bruno Politano, Brazil - 12,125,000

New rules for the World Series of Poker 2014

Rules are not supposed to be change during the game and that's why the World Series of Poker representatives decided to make the new ones public, before the tournament gets in full throttle. One of the most important notifications that prospective players should pay attention to, is that no verbal abuse will be allowed at this edition. This is virtually a common sense regulation that has been enforced for many years, but this time, WSOP organizers say that no lenience will be shown to culprits. While this is a common sense decision that doesn't change much to those who plan on competing in Las Vegas in June, there are other rules that demand publicity. Unibet Poker members who have secured a seat at the main event as a result of qualifying to one of their satellites, are particularly interested if they reside outside United States. Non-US players are recommended to have two forms of identification on them, to make it easy to validate their address. It might sound a bit excessive, but they are not to leave these identifications at the hotel, on those days when they play in a World Series of Poker event. To further clarify any doubts, the authorities have made it crystal clear that having the passport on them is not enough and another document is required. The problem is that virtually nobody carries an electricity or other type of bill on them all the time, and this is how the address is supposed to be proven in the first place. Not surprisingly, many of those who have serious plans about the upcoming World Series of Poker edition are annoyed by these new changes. It looks like they aggravate an otherwise straightforward process, but the officials say that the new regulations serve a reasonable purpose. Another thing that poker players should know is that they need to present the same identification papers if they plan on competing over the Internet, since online poker is prohibited in the United States. The announcement made by the World Series of Poker executive director received a terrible response on social networks, but there is only that much that players can do about it. Apparently, it is still possible to play in the WSOP without having or these new papers on you, but the process of verifying your address and identity can take a lot.

Dominik Nitsche wins second bracelet in one month

Some poker professionals wait for a lifetime to win a World Series of Poker bracelet and despite their best efforts, the coveted prize eludes them. On the bright side, there are some like Dominik Nitsche who see their efforts lavishly rewarded and the results exceed expectations. The accomplished poker player won his first bracelet just one month ago at the World Series of Poker Circuit National Championship. That was an excellent month for him at the WSOP and those who expected him to achieve a memorable result were correct. He won Event #21 – $1k NLHE and $335k in the process, but the most important thing is that he also collected his third bracelet and has many more opportunities to add another one. 1. Dominik Nitsche – $335,6592. Dave D'Alesandro – $208,9313. Bob Bounahra – $145,2294. Zachary Gruneberg – $104,5945. Thayer Rasmussen – $76,4436. Jeff Gross – $56,5497. Eric Milas – $42,3828. Billy Horan – $32,1689. David Burt – $24,70210. Lance Harris – $19,398 Unibet Poker sent a couple of players at the World Series of Poker this year as a result of winning qualifiers, but most of them chose to compete in Texas hold'em tournaments. This is the most popular form of poker at the moment and very few venture into the uncharted waters of HORSE tournaments. This explains why fewer players paid the buy-in for the Event #22 – $10k HORSE Championship, but due to the fact that they had to pay $1000 out-of-pocket, the prizes surged. Christopher Wallace was the main beneficiary as he outshined Randy Ohel and scooped more than half a million in the process. This is what the other players who made the final table got for their efforts. 1. Christopher Wallace – $507,6142. Randy Ohel – $313,7153. Richard Sklar – $206,4994. Richard Ashby – $150,6255. Max Pescatori – $112,0666. Lee Goldman – $84,8447. Bill Chen – $65,2738. Calvin Anderson – $50,9669. Bruno Fitoussi – $40,36310. Nick Kost – $40,363 Doug Polk is one of the best online poker players and he made a lot of money playing at nosebleed limits against tough competitors. He doesn't have an impressive track record when it comes to live tournaments, but he was formidable in Las Vegas this year. He took down Event 23 – $1k NLHE Turbo and won his first ever bracelet, in addition to $252,000 Check out the complete list of winners below: 1. Doug Polk – $251,9692. Andy Philachack – $155,7563. Jonathan Hanner – $102,5034. Chad Cox – $73,8945. Liam Alcock – $54,0886. Tony Gregg – $40,1687. Gianluca Cedolia – $30,2528. Dash Dudley – $23,0939. Andrew Mackenzie – $17,85710. Daniel Colman wins his first WPT Alpha 8 event

The World Poker Tour is a prestigious series that rivals the biggest tournaments in the world and routinely attracts poker professionals. As always, the highrollers event are the ones that spent most of the time in the spotlights and this is where the best players in the world are to be found. The WPT Alpha 8 event recently concluded and with a buy-in of almost $100,000, it came as no surprise that just 17 players participated. Among those who sat down at the tables was Daniel Colman, a poker professional who began his activity over the Internet. This is where most of today's pros have started and many regular players are patiently waiting to make the transition from one level to the other. Unibet Poker is one of the online poker rooms where players get to choose between a nice variety of stakes, with those who prefer to compete at nosebleed limits having tables dedicated to them.Occasionally, the poker room runs qualifiers for live events, but this doesn't include highroller tournaments, so those who participated in the WPT Alpha 8 event had to pay the buy-in out-of-pocket. Colman emerged victorious and claimed a prize of £600,000 which means that he enjoyed the return on investment of 10 times the buy-in. The runner-up was Max Altergott who had to settle for £350,000, with two more players finishing in the money for a combined £400,000. This is not the first time that Daniel Colman wins a highrollers tournament, and it isn't the biggest prize that he collects for such a performance. He also prevailed in the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open, the European Poker Tour (EPT) Monte Carlo Grand Final Super High Roller and won the World Series of Poker (WSOP) $1 million Big One For One Drop event. What makes his performance impressive is that he accomplished all this in one year and he is entitled to expect even better things to come his way in 2015 and beyond. With just seven players participating in this highroller tournament, it didn't take long for the final table to be decided and Isaac Haxton was the first to make the money. Talal Shakerchi was the executioner but he lost most of his chips to the eventual winner, who made short work of Max Altergott during the heads-up stage. Check out the official WPT Alpha8 London Results 1 Daniel Colman £600,000 ($959,622)2 Max Altergott £350,000 ($559,780)3 Talal Shakerchi £224,000 ($358,259)4 Isaac Haxton £160,000 ($255,899)

MSPT Wisconsin State Poker Championship starts today

The official dates for the upcoming World Series of Poker have been announced and a few months from now, quality poker will return to the United States. This doesn't mean that there is nothing to do within borders this month, especially if you reside in Wisconsin. This is the place where the MSPT Wisconsin State Poker Championship will unfold and the series starts today, while concluding on Sunday. The highlight of this tournament is the main event which will set players back $1100 and has a guaranteed prize pool of $200,000. The gracious host for the competition is Ho-Chunk Gaming Wisconsin Dells and players from all over the country are expected to participate. There are super satellites and qualifiers that start at $65 and enable players to book a seat at the main event table without paying the buy-in. The number of participants has exceeded even the most optimistic expectations, with the last tournament being also immensely popular with the players. A total of 349 players found it worthwhile to participate in September and the winner took home in excess of $90,000. Many of the former champions are expected to return for this February event, so the competition will be fierce and the number of participants higher than ever before. Charity Series of Poker starts on Sunday

Money makes the world go round and poker professionals can surely relate to this saying, because profit is what channels their energy and keeps them motivated. Those who are even remotely passionate about this game will feel at home in Las Vegas for one more week, as the World Series of Poker is in full swing. It is very difficult for poker professionals to be lured outside Sin City, but there are reasons for why they should take some time off and leave the premises of Rio casino. On July 6 at 5 PM local time, the Charity Series of Poker will begin and just as the name suggests, those who participate will be doing it for a worthy cause. The buy-in is an affordable $300 and players can also perform a rebuy of $100 or add on to their starting stack, which means that the prize pool can grow a lot. Matt Stout was the poker player behind this project and the reason for why he set up the tournament is that he wanted to give something back to the community. The response exceeded expectations and among those who decided to pay the three digit amount to participate were plenty of online poker professionals. Some of them travel to Planet Hollywood casino especially for this event and many have traded the online felt at Unibet Poker for the real thing. There will be plenty of poker professionals and several World Series of Poker main event winners, which means that amateurs will get to see their favorite players in flesh. Obviously, money is to be made because the tournament will result in a significant prize pool and only half of the amount will be donated to Three Square Food Bank. Matt Stout who is the one hosting the Charity Series of Poker has a tradition of helping those less fortunate and he is very happy with the direction in which the tournament is heading. The purpose of this competition is to amass as much money as possible and help the foundation feed those poor and hungry. The fact that the tournament will begin one day after the WSOP main event starts is not as bad as it seems, because there will be plenty of players around to participate. Some will choose to buy in on Day 1A or Day 1C, while others will simply skip the main event if they can't afford to pay $10,000 out-of-pocket.

Mukul Pahuja overcomes adversity to win WSOP trophy

The World Series of Poker Circuit Main Event at Palm Beach Kennel Club in Florida brought together many of the players who were hungry for land-based competition. They've got plenty of choices if they go over the Internet with the tournaments running live at Unibet poker keeping them at the edge of their seats. There are plenty of advantages associated to online gambling, but there are many who think that only a live poker game can capture the very essence of this beautiful sport. Among those who participate in this tournament that made a deep run it is worth mentioning Jonathan Hilton, Maurice Hawkins, Russ Head and Tony Ruberto. The last was actually the most successful of all of them as he finished in the 10th Pl., even though this was not enough for him to make the final table. In the WSOP tournaments the final table consists of nine players, so he finished just short of that. At the same time, Juan Mendoza and Weinman were battling at the bottom of this list and decided not to take any chances with their tiny stacks. $5000 was the difference between the player who finish in the eighth place and the one who came in the night, so it was worth fighting for. At the same time, players who had more chips in front of them tried to make the most of this advantage and improve their chances of winning the tournament. Mukul Pahuja was among them and he pushed short stackers into a corner, by forcing them to react to his aggressive place all the time. Eventually, he went all in with a pair of jacks against Dalton Mills and he got lucky because he managed to beat a pair of Kings when a fortunate jack appeared on the flop. From this point onward he only went upward and kept playing aggressive poker to consolidate his stack. As the field was limited to just three players, they chose to discuss the terms of a deal but no agreement was reached so competition resumes promptly. Two players from Florida were well positioned to win it and eventually they managed to send Eric Bunch to the rail in the third-place. Adam Levy, Tristan Wade, and Daniel Weinman were regarded as the main favorites to win the tournament but they were eliminated one by one, with at them being the last to be sent home. Mukul Pahuja emerge victorious and for his performance he won almost $200,000, while the next players collected the amounts listed below: 1 Mukul Pahuja Coconut Creek, FL $193,0952 Adam Levy Coral Springs, FL $119,4343 Eric Bunch Skiatook, OK $87,3344 Dalton Mills Jacksonville, FL $64,8065 Joshua Lowing Pensacola, FL $48,7616 Staffan Lind Vero Beach, FL $37,1947 Tristan Wade Boynton Beach, FL $28,7628 Daniel Weinman Atlanta, GA $22,5469 Juan Mendoza Wilmington, NC $17,912
