And I thought Arin loved dead jokes.

5 years ago, Dan mentioned a story where he told his dad he dug the Qumran caves in Israel when he was a kid. After, someone edited the wikipedia for the Qumran caves to say "these caves were dug by dan avidan". He mentioned it on the show, said it was funny, but said something to the affect of "Don't vandalize Wikipedia as a joke"
5 motherfucking years later, and there were 5 edits to that Wikipedia page that added this already dead, basically embalmed joke, only in the month of January 2019.
I knew the majority of their fanbase was juvenile as shit and try really hard to be part of the joke and be a special fan, but really? 5 edits in one month from different people?

[Discussion] How To Beat A Dead Horse: Wikipedia Edition

I was browsing Wikipedia just reading random articles, and I ended up on the Dead Sea Scrolls. I'm sure you already know where this is going.
That joke was from 2014. As of January 2019, people are still trying to be funny and editing the wikipedia article for the Qumran Caves.
It's so frequently vandalized, that it is now a protected Wikipedia page, with it's reason cited as "persistent vandalism". Looking through the edit history, it happened 5 times in January 2019 alone, by various IPs.
I know the fanbase loves to keep dead jokes alive ad nauseam, but really? 5 years later, and there are still enough edits of this joke to warrant page protection?
But hey man, whatever you gotta do to feel like you're in on the joke.
Edit: For the uninitiated (this is from 5 years ago, after all) One time Dan told a story about how he told his father that he dug the Qumran caves. After that, someone edited the Qumran Caves Wikipedia page as a joke, and sent him a picture, adding "These caves were dug by Dan Avidan". He even ended that mention with something to the affect of "Don't vandalize Wikipedia, this was funny, but don't"

Leigh Daniel Avidan (born March 14th, 1979), better known as Danny Sexbang of the band Ninja Sex Party and commonly referred to as Dan or Danny, is the co-host of Game Grumps and a member of Steam Train. Some Qumran caves were formed naturally while others were dug out by the Essenes, a Jewish sect that lived in Qumran in the second and first centuries BC. In 1947, a Bedouin goat herder hurled a rock into one of the Qumran caves near the northwestern shore of the Dead Sea to chase out a goat that had wandered in, heard something shatter, and entered to discover the clay jars containing the Dead Sea Scrolls.
